Position Description

We are seeking a motivated intern to assist the Quantum Remote Sensing (QRS) platform with measurement, analysis, and development of a system to measure particle size and concentration in solutions, using single-photon detection techniques. This project is largely research-based, exploring the imaging technique and application space. Interns will take data sets across various materials, and then fit models to experimental data. This will be a Summer internship, starting May 2025 and ending in August 2025.



Duties and Responsibilities 


- Set up an optical experiment, take measurements, and analyze data. 

- Work with the QRS team to develop analysis techniques and model fits for the datasets. 

- Helping the QRS team write up reports for internal and external stakeholders.



Required Skills and Experience


- Currently Pursuing Masters, Phd or PhD Graduate    

- Background in Computer Science and Physics (optics)

- Experience in data collection and analysis in noisy systems

- Ability to work with a group, seeking guidance, asking questions, and self-motivated work



Additional Preferred Skills


- Experience with lasers, and optics

- Proficiency in a coding language for data analysis  (like Python, MATLAB) 

- Scientific paper writing experience

Term

The internship will take place over the summer of 2025.
