Position Description


This internship is centered on advanced quantum optical imaging technologies applied to biomechanical imaging of biological tissues, with a focus on Corneal Elastography. The project utilizes a custom-built optical imaging system operating at 1310 nm, designed to probe subsurface tissue mechanical properties with high sensitivity and spatial resolution. 



Duties and Responsibilities


- Support ongoing research on tissue elastography using quantum optical imaging techniques

- Contribute to maintaining, optimizing, and aligning the imaging setup for reliable operation

- Acquire and analyze time-resolved imaging data to extract biomechanical parameters

- Participate in active literature review to stay current with state-of-the-art methods in optical elastography and quantum imaging

- Document procedures, experimental results, and technical findings to ensure reproducibility and continuity of research


Required Skills and Experience 


- Background in physics, optics, biomedical engineering, or related fields

- Hands-on experience with optical alignment, lasers, or interferometry is strongly preferred

- Familiarity with scientific computing tools (MATLAB, Python) and basic signal/image processing

- Self-motivated, meticulous, and capable of working in a structured R&D environment

- Scientific paper writing experience




Location: Onsite in Hoboken, NJ  

Dates: May - August 2025

Education: Currently pursuing Master’s, pursuing PhD, or PhD Graduate
