Job description: 
QCi is seeking to hire a highly-motivated individual who will help support a variety of day-to-day operational tasks in the photonic hardware lab, in addition to various uncommon tasks that arise at our startup. This is a manual-labor-intensive position, or “dirty work,” although there are many opportunities to learn about photonic and electronic hardware design! An ideal candidate will not mind carrying large equipment, disposing of dozens of cardboard boxes daily, and cleaning up occasional messes.

Receiving 
  • Able to comfortably carry or lift up to 50 lbs, more with tools (dollies, pallet jacks)
  • Respond to the doorbell, accepting incoming shipments
  • Unboxing equipment and delivering internally to the recipient
  • Receive bi-weekly food shipments, help unpack into kitchen storage areas
  • Track incoming shipments, resolving issues or delays
  • Coordinate with building management for freight deliveries
  • Record-keeping of shipping documents
  • Managing Inventory

Shipping
  • Safely package and ship outgoing technology for domestic and international delivery
  • Generating shipping labels, collect packing lists, certificates of origin, file for EEI
  • Coordinate drop-offs and pick-ups with carriers (FedEx, UPS, DHL)
  • Bring packages to nearby couriers (within 1-3 blocks)
  • Communicate tracking information with recipients, monitor delivery status

Conference Logistics
  • Coordinate shipment and delivery timing of conference banners, booths, papers
  • Ship trade show materials to convention centers, and receive return shipments
  • Coordinate with designated conference logistics vendors
  • Monitoring shipping deadlines for trade shows
  • Generating international shipping documents as needed

Dirty work
  • Help move Quantum Machines between production areas, lab space, and server rooms
  • Sweep and tidy up lab areas as needed
  • Pull and dispose trash bags when filled
  • Break down dozens of cardboard boxes per day
  • Assemble tables and various other lab and office fixtures

Requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and diligent record keeping

Desired traits
  • Experience with international shipping and customs documentation
  • Desire to learn about multiple engineering disciplines - Electronics, Optics, Software Engineering, Entropy Quantum Computing
